Reservations for 3 or more people are subject to a cancellation policy: they must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, using the link in the booking confirmation email. After that, or in case of no-show (with a 15-minute grace period from the reservation time), a charge of €5 per person will apply. For this reason, a card number is requested when booking, although no charge is made at that time.

Food & Dietary Options
Yes, we have several vegetarian and vegan dishes, and almost everything on our menu comes in a meat-free version, with a plant-based protein instead. We can also remove certain ingredients to make some vegetarian dishes vegan, so don't hesitate to ask.
Yes, we do, although we are not suitable for coeliacs. 95% of our menu is, or has a version, made "without gluten-containing ingredients", suitable for those who avoid gluten as a lifestyle choice, or for people with gluten sensitivity or wheat allergy, as long as they can tolerate possible traces.
We don't have a separate kitchen and cannot certify the absence of cross-contamination, although we take every possible precaution to avoid it.
Yes, our brunch has plenty of healthy options. We work with fresh, premium-quality produce: fruit and vegetables, avocado, eggs, olive oil, homemade granola, sourdough bread and house-made sauces. All our dishes are homemade, most are oven-baked or grilled, and we also offer drinks with natural sweeteners.
Yes, we serve breakfast, lunch and brunch. Although brunch is our specialty and is available all day, we're a restaurant, and our menu also includes lighter options ideal for breakfast and heartier dishes perfect for lunch. So you can choose whatever you fancy on each visit.
We specialise in tropical cuisine, including breakfast and brunch options such as cachapas and arepas. We have dishes from Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Mexico, and a wide variety of drinks made with ingredients and fruit sourced from Latin America, Africa and Asia. We also offer brunch classics like Eggs Benedict, pancakes and toasts.
Yes, our coffee is specialty grade, roasted by micro-roasters in Barcelona. We work with Orang Utan Coffee, grown on the island of Sumatra (Indonesia) by around 200 small-scale farming families, on plots of no more than 2 hectares and with several generations dedicated to coffee growing.
Our brunch is à la carte. As our menu is so varied, with dishes designed for different times of the day, we've chosen to let our customers freely pick whatever they prefer to eat.
Whenever possible, we work with native ingredients from each dish's country of origin, so that the flavour stays as true as possible to the original recipe. Around 50% of the ingredients we use to prepare our dishes come from the four corners of the tropics. All the tropical fruit we use is premium quality, as it ripens on the tree, and its origin changes according to the global production calendar: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, India, Peru, Sri Lanka, Thailand...
Our most popular dishes are: among the lighter ones, the Egg Avocado Toast; among the classic brunch dishes, the Eggs Benedict; and among the heartier ones, the Cachapa Pabellón Criollo.
Groups & Events
Yes, we take bookings for large groups, whether it's a birthday, a hen or stag do, a baby shower, a group of travellers or simply a get-together with friends.
Yes, we have three group menus: one with lighter dishes designed for breakfast, another with a variety of egg dishes ideal for brunch, and a third with heartier vegetarian, vegan and meat options, perfect for lunch. They're available for parties of 8 or more, and the whole group must order the same menu.
You can request a group booking by clicking the booking buttons on our website or the link in our Instagram profile, by emailing info@tropicobcn.com or by sending a WhatsApp to +34 646 44 70 36. Location & Accessibility
We have two locations in Barcelona: one at Carrer de Balmes, 24 (Eixample) and another at Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 15 (Barceloneta). We look forward to seeing you at whichever is closest!
Yes, both our locations, Balmes and Barceloneta, have a terrace.
Both locations have a bathroom adapted for people with reduced mobility. At Balmes, access from the street is step-free, and inside we have a platform lift to reach part of the dining room and the bathrooms. At Barceloneta, due to an architectural barrier in the building, it hasn't been possible to install a ramp, and there is a 15 cm step at the entrance.
We don't have our own parking, but there are options near both locations. At Balmes there's a paid car park 100 m away; on Sundays you can also park on the street, sometimes even right outside if there's a free spot. At Barceloneta there's one 200 m away.
Yes, we're dog friendly. In fact, we have a section on our menu with healthy snacks for dogs. Dogs are welcome both on the terrace and inside both our locations, as long as there's room to accommodate them comfortably. Small and medium dogs are usually no problem; if you're coming with a large dog, especially on busier days, we recommend letting us know when you book.
Yes, both our locations have high chairs, a baby changing table in the bathroom, and crayons and colouring sheets.
Yes, we have free WiFi for customers at both our locations. The network is called TROPICO_GUEST and has no password.
Yes, you can work on your laptop, and for our customers' convenience we have free WiFi and power outlets at every table. However, we're a restaurant, and during peak hours laptop use is limited to the bar, so tables stay available for those coming to eat.
Payments & Orders
We accept several payment methods: cash (euros) and all credit and debit cards, including American Express. We also accept meal vouchers: Ticket Restaurant (Edenred) and Pluxee.
Yes, we offer delivery through Glovo and Uber Eats. Takeaway is also available directly from both our locations.

Home deliveries are handled by Glovo and Uber Eats, so any issue must be resolved directly with the platform you ordered from. They are the ones who can process refunds or claims.
